Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

Just because you do not know exactly what is happening in a movie, does not mean that the film is bad. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is a slow moving thriller, full of intrigue, much like the dark days of the Cold War.

The film moves a little too slowly for some viewers. My wife, as always watching with one eye on the screen and the other on her phone, was unable to get into the movie and decided to switch off to a more mainstream show.

Like the spies of Britain, I soldiered on, returning to the dark, dirty world of London in the Cold War. The film builds suspense well, and it feels like a more realistic take on Cold War espionage than other films.

If you’re someone who enjoys history or thrillers, and you are willing to stay patient and focused as the film develops, then this is a great movie for you. If you’re someone that needs a clear story line, a lot of action, and maybe a good love interest, then you should pass on this movie.
